It’s so nice to finally meet you! I’m Katie and I own Kathryn Hastings Photography. I have been documenting milestones for the last 10 years. After living in the northern suburbs of Chicago for the last 34 years, freezing my booty off, we decided to move south for a warmer, simpler, family friendly lifestyle. The unbeatable sunsets, ocean views and incredible mountain backdrops makes for a gorgeous portfolio for my expanding wedding business here in the Carolinas. I took a chance moving my business down south and feel so privileged to be able to work with the BEST couples in the world!
I love my weekends with my couples. From coffee meetings & engagement sessions to Wedding days and Album designing, it’s so exciting and inspires me daily.
My husband and I are both from the Northern Suburbs of Chicago. We went to college in Illinois and got married in January 2007. We renewed out wedding vows 10 years later at our families summer home on the coast of Rhode Island. It was magical, stunning and all 4 babies were there to witness it.
Last January we got this wild idea while sitting in the Denver Airport, that Brad should take a position in North Carolina and get out of the Very Windy and Very Cold City and take our talents and children south! So here we are!
When I’m not working behind the camera, you’ll find me decorating my house, imagine old farmhouse, distressed wood, white, grey and navy, with costal influences. I have 4 babies! Well, not really babies anymore. Olivia (10) Whitney (8) William (5) and Jack (2). They run my world. Date nights are my absolute favorite with Brad. We’ve been married for 12 years. I think one of the things I love most is connecting with people while I’m traveling alone. I have met and made so many friends that way. It’s invigorating. I love watching old movies, circa John Hughes era! You know, Breakfast Club, Ferris Bullers Day off and 16 Candles?!?! If you don’t know, now you do. Check them out. Life Changers! I’m a Peloton addict. I love fashion, traveling, learning about other cultures, the sun, rainy days (not on your wedding day, of course), sea food and tea! I’m thankful to God everyday that I get to do what I love, for people I grow to adore, while raising my babies and loving on my hubby. If you hire Kathryn Hastings Photography as your wedding photographer you will receive more then just a photographer you will literally become part of the family!
